Program: Departure in the morning from the center of the village of Madalena. Get to know the wonderful landscape of the vineyard culture, the area of the verdelho and an extraordinary labyrinth of "vineyards" walls, classified by Unesco as a world heritage site. Visit the sanctuary of the Bom Jesus Milagroso, handicraft house, traditional cheese shop, passage through the "mystery" of São João, partially converted into a recreational forest park. Lunch buffet with drinks included in local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit to the museum of the whalers (entrance included), village of Lajes do Pico "whaling village" and first point of entry on the island by the first settlers. Crossing from the south to the north of the island passing through the central plateau next to the Pico Mountain, the highest point of the country where we made a stop to visit the captain's lagoon or the Caiado lagoon, visit this depends on the weather conditions. We proceed to the village of S. Roque, natural pools, mystery of Lajido with its extensive lava field, Cachorro arches with wine cellar area inserted in a "mystery" area, and we finish again in the Village of the Madalena.
(*) when the visit coincides with a holiday or other closing day of the museums (Monday), the visit will be made to the old factory of the whale Sibil, in Lajes do Pico, converted into "center of arts and sciences of the sea" (entrance included).
